We successfully held a 3 day Children’s parliament preparation training on advocacy and lobbying for climate change in Rufunsa and Concerns raised by children were;

Energy transition and clean jobs
Public awareness
mobilization
Children called on government to ensure universal Climate change education and climate literacy for all and funding according to the international timelines.
They are also demanded that education should have a holistic approach by intergrating learning into the curricula at all levels by introducing climate change elements into existing subjects,training policy makers , teachers and communities.
Other burning issues were charchoal burning in the community and how the children would like to see government apply strong policies on charcoal burners and sellers so that forests can be protected and restored .
The charcoal burners also require support through capacity building trainings which can provide them skills to create new energy solutions which can also give them income. Clean energy alternatives such as rocket stoves , biogas digesters and solar or wind energy .
And this to be included on the CDF budget lines .
If this is done . It will give the children a secure future to look up to
